WITH the fine weather here for the coming days and the Easter break to enjoy, it’s definitely worth a trip out to the lovely village of Ardfert.

And with the fantastic Bamboo boutique located there, you can be assured of finding something special on your visit.

While Bamboo — located on the left just after Horgan’s Centra on the entrance to the village — may look small from the outside, it has a spacious interior with a high ceiling, stone fireplace and quirky touches to delight the shopper.

Bamboo started in 2005 after Sharon Lewis and Kay Revington set up in the old stone cottage and from then on it has flourished and is now a treasure trove for the discerning fashion lover.

“We have lots of new stock in — bright colours, things you can wear every day, whether you want to dress up or dress down. It’s all about versatility,” said Sharon.

“We look at pieces that give longevity, something that you could wear at communions, confirmations, graduations, but you could also wear them on a day out shopping, on a night out or lunch with the girls.”

And it’s not just clothes as they stock an extensive range of accessories including bags, scarves, jewellery, belts and shoes.

“We have a huge range of accessories and really affordable too. We have also started selling a range of Italian handbags,” said Sharon, who added that they specialise in dressing the generations and the boutique is popular with mothers and daughters.

With a great location and parking available across the road, people also often stop in as part of a day out.

“Around this time of year, we find a lot of people go to Banna for a walk, stop off in Kate Browne’s for lunch on the way back and then call into us for a look, which makes for an enjoyable afternoon out,” said Sharon.

Sounds like a pleasant way for ladies to spend a few hours so why not call out to Bamboo during the Easter break.

They’re open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 6pm and on this Bank Holiday Monday from 12pm to 6pm. For more, check out their facebook page.
