Juvenile Academy

U6: Our u6’s trained in the sunshine on our astro turf under the watchful eyes of their coaches and parents. It was delightful to see all the happy faces as they learnt their skills. Training continues next week at 10.30am.

U8: Last Sunday we hosted a blitz with teams from Churchill and Ardfert. While the morning was warm and sunny what really brightened our day was the quality of football played by St. Pats under-8 squad. Chloe played well in goals contributing accurate kickouts to help us keep possession while Rian, Eddie, and Jake put in some great defensive work, James and Ryan did trojan work in midfield linking up with the forwards and getting on the scoreboard themselves. Blake led the forward line throughout getting some great points along with Sarah who tackled very well with help from Isaac, Niamh, Megan and Bruce. Very well done to all of our St. Pat’s players. Thanks to the Ardfert and Churchill clubs for joining us on Sunday with very good under-8 teams and also to the referees.

Training continues on Sunday morning at 10:30 and don’t forget to put in some practice at home.

U10: A great training session in the blazing sunshine was enjoyed by our boys and girls in training last Sunday and it is great to see them having fun whilst learning their skills.

U12: St Pats U-12’s had a busy week of Co League action. We traveled to Scartaglin last Thursday and then last Sunday we were at home against our neighbors Austin Stacks. Unfortunately results didn’t go our way in either game but all our St Pats future stars did us proud with the great effort they gave in both games. Some of the highlights were Thomas Sheehy’s great saves and kick outs, Zach Howarth’s handling and surges out of defensive, Eddie Stacks brilliant hands in  dispossessing opponents, Orlaith Murphy always getting out in front of her opposite number, Daniel  Sheehy’s timing in blocking down the ball, young Jack Costello, brave as a lion, under the breaking ball, Fionn Dairo’s point scoring and accurate kick passing, Diarmuid Waugh’s side step and solo runs, Mark O’Brien’s hand passing, Rory Kelliher’s over the head catches, Killian O’Mahony’s quick turn and eye for goals, another one of our younger players Darragh Murphy’s lethal left boot in around the goals, Aiden Hayes strong tackling, Rachel Mulgrew’s speed carrying the ball, Conor Daly’s kicking for a goal, Michael Enright’s near hand dispossession of opponents, new comers Emmanuel Bramkovic strong kick and high fielding, Quin Griffin’s solo and Lance Byrne’s good ball handling. Now that there’s a break until the 20th of May for the next stage of five Co League games, it’s important ye all continue to attend our training sessions and also keep practicing yer skills at home during the week. The training and match schedule for the week will be circulated to ye shortly. Naomh Pádraig Abú !!

U14 Girls: Our girls played Duagh last Monday night in Blennerville and gave a gutsy performance but were unlucky to come out on the wrong side despite having plenty of possession and hitting the bar 3 times. The final score line was St Pats 1-3 Duagh 2-3.

We play Dingle Monday evening in Dingle with a throw in time of 7pm.

U14 Boys: Our lads took part in the Inaugural Donal Walsh Livelife U14 Invitational Tournament which was held in Strand Road on Saturday last. We had 11 players who took part and all did fantastic over the course of the day.

We had three very tough games against Austin Stacks and Mitchels and we defeated Ballymac who we met in the final of the shield and seemed to be very strong for the final so we lost by a huge score line. Our boys from start to finish played their hearts out and most of all seemed to enjoy their football even though we were low on numbers.

Well done to the organizers and a huge well done to our squad who played very strong teams with little numbers .

Panel: Callum Hayes, Callum Houston, Shane Howarth, Adam Hegarty, Adam Mulvihill, Tomas

Sheehy, Paddy Moran, Cillian Lynch, Sean Murphy, Josh Quilter and Zach Howarth

U16: Our U16’s suffered a heavy defeat to a stronger John Mitchels team last Monday evening in the semi finals of the Central Region competition.

Co. Junior Football Leagues 2018

This League commences on Friday 18th May with games at 7.30 pm and we have been drawn in Group 4 with An Ghaeltacht, Lispole, Listowel Emmets, Ardfert and Dingle C. Detailed fixtures to follow later.

Seniors

Our seniors were defeated by Dr. Crokes B last Saturday evening in a Div 3 County League back game played in Lewis Street. Missing quite a number of regulars, and having a very tight panel, we competed very well and even drew level mid-way into the 2nd half until Crokes struck for their second goal of the game and went on to win convincingly.

We hope to bounce back from this defeat when we take on Keel in round 4 of the County League this Saturday, 12th of May at 7pm in Blennerville.

This workshop will give coaches some ideas on helping to make coaching sessions more accessible and enjoyable to these players.  This will be a practical session that will also give Coaches ideas on different types of games that can be used in all sessions.
