Information Night

We held an information night last Friday night in the Rose Hotel with the aim being to to encourage as many people as possible to take a more active role in the club’s activities for 2019 as well as increase numbers in all age groups. Club Chairman, Jimmy Mulligan gave the welcome notes, outlining the fact that we are a Tralee based club with good facilities such as an astro pitch, a gym and community rooms and appealed to parents and guardians to take up tasks within the club, maintaining that there is something for everyone.

Next up was in-coming Kerry Minor Manager, James Costello, who delivered the keynote address and outlined the advantages of playing with a smaller club where a player’s leadership qualities are heightened and he also touched on how players within the club can develop and progress to wear the county colours.

Finally, a Q & A session on how the club can increase participation was open to the floor and people gave their views which will be implemented in the coming year.

Kerry Minor Manager

St Pats’ James Costello has been put forward as the new Kerry Minor Manager succeeding Peter Keane. James has been involved with St Pats all his life and has served as a juvenile coach in the club at all levels.

As a player, he has won numerous county titles as a juvenile and senior player and at inter-county level, he was involved with the Kerry Juniors playing as a full-back from 1998, culminating in an All-Ireland Junior title playing in the same position in 2006.

In the same year, he also trained the St Brendan’s Board U21s to win the county title. He has also trained and managed the St Pat’s senior team. Away from the football field, he has served as the Secretary and Chairperson of the club.

Under his leadership, he oversaw the implementation of our 5-year plan, our astro pitch was down to his vision and our Academy also got into full swing.

Up until recently, James had been involved with various development squads, most notably the U16 team and we all in St Pats wish him the very best as he attempts to land our minors an unprecedented 6th title in a row. Naomh Padraig agus Ciarraí abú!
