The five €30 consolation prizes went to Killian Quirke Ballydunlea, Mary Quirke c/o Kevin Quirke, Sheila Murphy Derrymore West, Kathleen McMullan Strand Road and Niall Ryle Spa. Next week’s Lotto will have a Jackpot of €2,900 and the draw will take place this Sunday night October11th in O’Dwyer’s Bar. Lotto tickets are available from the usual outlets or any club officer.

U-10s:

There was a good turnout for training last Sunday morning with only the boys in attendance.

Everyone showed great commitment throughout the training session. It is very important that players continue to practice their skills at home to further improve themselves. We have a match this Sunday against Na Gaeil boys in Na Gaeil at 11am and it is important that players bring with them gumshields, gloves and boots.

U-16s:
St Pat’s 3-8, Ardfert 3-13
In a very entertaining game on Wednesday last it was Ardfert who proved that bit stronger in the end! This was the last game of the year for the un16:s but they once again showed what a good team they have become.

They all played with great heart and could have been a lot closer had they taken some of the missed opportunities! Eoin Greaney stood out on this occasion showing great skill and proved very accurate with all his attempts on goal, he notched up 1 goal and kicked some great points both from free s and play! We also saw two great goals from Gearoid Dillane who covered a lot of ground as he did all year.

Our third goal came from jack Lynch who won some great ball to set up point s for Patrick Dowling who played very well at midfield and along with Shane Jordan who covered a lot of ground on the night both played very well! James Friel tried hard getting into some great positions  and got on the score board along with Adam Boyle who won some great ball on the 40.

St Pat’s could have stole a victory! Sean Hogan made some great saves in goals and with the backs of Joe O’Connor, Mikey Cahill, Eoghan Murphy ,and Cathal Fitzgibbon all playing very well and were under pressure for long spells but they adapted well and all worked very hard! Bryan Murphy made many runs forward and even got on the scoreboard!

All in all it was a great performance against a strong Ardfert team and St. Pat’s could have stole it but for the advert goalie and some bad misses! But the future looks bright for this bunch of player and huge thanks must go to the coaches Luke Mulligan, Eoin Sayers and John- Fizzy Fitzgerald who looked after them all year!!!!

Girls:

Our girls took on Camp/Annascaul on Friday last on our astroturf and it proved a very tough game but our girls showed determination and courage against a physically stronger Camp/Annascaul team.

On Sunday, our girls bounced back from defeat on Friday evening to defeat Na Gaeilgirls in a pulsating match. This was a very exciting game of two evenly matched teams but it was the determination and skill of all our players in particular the outstanding defending by Lisa Rowan, Keelin Enright, Orlaith Murphy and Millie O’Brien along with the two great goals by Grainne Breen that saw us over the line. It was also great to see our u8 players, Sinead Murphy, Sinead Knightly, Caoilinn Culloo and Millie O’Brien improving with every game and to have Aoife Burke join the team, who will be a great asset in the future.

Team: Caoimhe O’Sullivan, Siobhan O’Sullivan, Grainne Breen, Lisa Rowan, Caoimhe Dairo, Keelin Enright, Sinead Murphy, Orlaith Murphy, Roisin Griffin, Millie O’Brien, Caoilinn Culloo, Sinead Knightly and Aoife Burke.

Hero of The Year Award:

Congrats and well done to Brenda Doody of Curraheen who has recently been awarded Mercy Hero of the Year 2015 by the Mercy Hospital in Cork.  Brenda has been recognized by the hospital as a real Hero for her outstanding fundraising initiative.

At the start of the year she set a target of completing 12 grueling marathons in 8 months whereby funds and sponsorship generated would be donated to cancer research at the Mercy.  True to her word, she has completed 11 x 26 milers, generated much funds and is looking forward to accompanying hubby Pat on her 12th trek in Dublin at the end of this month. Comghairdeas agus Ar Fheabhas Brenda.

Sympathy:

The club would like to extend its sympathy to the family and friends of Maurice O’Halloran, Upton, Cork and formerly of Ballyduff, Gerard Ryle Farmer’s Bridge, Dr. Richard Chute Caherslee, and Henry “Bruddy” Burrows, Reidy’s Tce and formerly of Kevin Barry’s Villas. May they rest in peace.
