Juvenile Academy

U5

A nice turnout for our first session back .Great to see all the familiar faces returning and a big welcome to our newcomers.  Lots of games to get everyone moving with and without the ball.

U7

More of the under 7 were bursting with energy today on the first day back. We had excellent numbers and with 6 coaches we were just about able to handle them.
Noel Gilbride, Mike Moriarty, John Fitzgerald, Terry Boyle and first time coach James spade were all eager to help with perfecting their skills. A few games were had and all seemed to enjoy.

With the excellent facilities in Tralee I.T we were well sheltered from the wind and rain. We will be indoor for next few weeks, so it’s a great time to introduce the kids to football and to develop their skills

U8 Girls

Despite the desperate weather conditions the under 8 girls got off to a warm & dry start in the fantastic facility at the Kerry Sports Academy. Just 8 girls made it on the morning, which combined with 4 enthusiastic coaches made a great coaching ratio!!

The smiles on the girls rosy cheeks said it all! It was a fun enthusiastic session for all with the core skills all covered within movement games. The girls were delighted to finish by knocking their coaches out in a fist pass game of rollerball!

With such high enthusiasm it was hard to pick player of the week but this week it went to Sadie Hennessy for her determination, team spirit and excellent practice of skills over the winter season.

Great work girls, keep practicing those skills to impress your coaches & enjoy the fun next week! Our under 12 girls, under 14 girls and under 11 boys were unable to play out in Kerry Sports Academy’s Astro pitch. We will try again next week.

U9

The u9s had a solid start to the year and its clear lots of the boys have been practicing over the winter. We practiced our hand passing, soloing and pickups and we finished with a game where some brilliant goals were scored. See you all next week again.

U10 Girls

U10 Girls returned to training Sunday morning 20th at Kerry Sports Academy. 12 girls played fun games coached by Kieran and Nigel. They practiced pick up’s, solo’s, hand passing and kicking. Finishing with a 6-a-side match the girls showed great determination. Well done to Abbey Hobbert who won u10 girls player of the week. Keep up the practice at home. See you all next week.
