Registration 2024
Now that some of our teams have resumed training and others will be resuming shortly players and coaches, please register your membership of the Club for 2024. Membership is a vital part of ensuring the club’s continued success and development.
Whether you are a player, coach, supporter, parent of a player or member of the wider community we welcome you to register with St. Pat’s. We ask you this year to register through http://www.stpatsgaaclub.com or on Foireann www.foireann.ie which is available on Apple and Google Play to download.
One of the benefits of registering as a playing member of the GAA or LGFA via the Club is that in the event of an injury sustained playing or training resulting in medical expenses it may be possible to claim a level of refund from the GAA or LGFA Injury Benefit Fund. However, any player seeking to benefit from the Injury Benefit Fund must be a registered member of the GAA or LGFA on Foireann at the time of injury.
The respective Injury Benefit Funds are self-funded entirely from the GAA and LGFA funds with no outside involvement. The Injury Funds are not an insurance scheme. The Injury Funds are set up to assist members with some reimbursement for medical expenses incurred due to an injury sustained playing Gaelic football.
The respective Injury Benefit Funds do not seek to compensate fully for injuries sustained but to supplement other Schemes such as Personal Accident or Health Insurance. The GAA and LGFA Schemes only provide cover for unrecoverable losses up to the limits specified under the respective Schemes. More details can be viewed on https://learning.gaa.ie/InjuryFund orhttps://ladiesgaelic.ie/resources/injury-fund/

U9
Well done to all our U9’s boys who had great fun at last week’s training session. We did a lot of work on the pick-up and our kicking, and it all showed when we finished with two games. Keep up the practice at home! A big thank you to our coaches Noel, James, and Tom.
U11
St Pats U11’s were training last Sunday on the Astro in the MTU. We teamed up with the U13’s. We had a good session improving our skills and we finished up with an enjoyable match.
All players put in a great effort especially Ben, Paddy, Nick, and Austin. It is important all our players continue to attend our training sessions and keep practicing the skills at home during the week.
Matches will be starting soon. No Training next week as we will be marching in the St. Patrick’s Day parade in Tralee so hope to see you all taking part with us there instead. Naomh Pádraig Abú!!
U12 Girls
Our U12 girls trained at the MTU last Sunday. We had some fun drills to warm up, then we focused on skills and finished with some small-sided games. The girls are coming on leaps and bounds so keep up the practice at home.
We will have no training this coming Sunday as we will be marching in the St Patrick’s day parade. And we will play in our first blitz of the season in John Mitchels on Sunday week March 24th. Anyone wishing to help out with coaching the U 12 girls, please contact Joe on 0872593800.
U13
Our U11s and U13s had a joint session this Sunday and all the boys showed tremendous attitude as they improved their defensive skills. We worked very hard at marking from the front and forcing an opponent onto their weak leg.
Training continues this Wednesday at 6 to 7 on St Pats astro. With a skills test coming up shortly and matches to start with better weather, it is important for all our players to practice their skills.
