Another great turnout for St Pats Under 5s in the MTU. We had an upbeat session working on all our fundamental movement & ball skills. Thanks to our U13 mentors Tommy & Hugh Costello for encouraging the kids to show off their skills & help us coaches keep the energy up!!

Today we chose 2 of our newer players as players of the week. Mary Sayers has had a smile on her face & great listening attention throughout. she was our well-deserved player of the week!

Our boy’s player of the week went to Conor who really got the hang of joining in the fun games & showed off his speedy feet! Keep up all the practice at home boys & girls! Go St Pats!!

U7

We had a great session in the MTU today. We practised hand passing and soloing of the ball as well as kicking for goals and pints. We finish with a very competitive game.

Well, done to Ryan who was our player of the week.

U8 Girls

We had a great session today as we joined with the U10 girls, we did kicking drills and a few fun games and played a very competitive full-length game at the end, and our very deserving player of the week was Ella, Well done Ella!

U9 Boys

Well, done to all our u9 boys who put in a great effort this morning. We continue to work on the basic skills of the game in our sessions and we are now doing a lot of work on the “pick up”. Hope they all enjoy their Easter holidays and maybe get some practice at the “pick up” and the “solo” over the Easter holidays too.

We will have our first games next month too hopefully. See ye all again next Sunday!

U11 Boys

St Pats U-11’s were training last Sunday on the Astro in the MTU. We had a good session improving ours kicking skills. We finished up with a good competitive match.

All players put in a great effort especially Michael, Luke, Fionn and Sean. It’s important all our players continue to attend our training sessions, matches, and keep practicing the skills at home during the week.

Matches will be starting this week we will be in contact with parents about details of same. Naomh Pádraig Abú!!

U10 Girls

Our U10 and U8 girls joined forces for a fast paced and energetic session at MTU this morning.  We worked on speed, agility, and evasion with all the girls showing very fast feet.!

Or mid-session focused on kicking and soloing, and we put these into practice in a well contested match to finish. Congratulations to Emma our very worthy POTW.

Well, done everyone and keep up your practice at home.!!

U12 Girls

Last Sunday, our U12 girls played in their first blitz of the season where they played Kerins O’Rahillys and John Mitchels, hosted by John Mitchels on their Astro pitch.

After a fun warm up combining players from all 3 clubs, we broke into two teams each and played some small sided games. All 17 girls from St Pats played very well and were very competitive in all their games.

A special mention to the U11 girls who played in their first U12 blitz and a very special mention to Olivia, Cara, and Natalie from the U10’s who played up for the day.

Thanks to Thomas Kerins from John Mitchels for co-ordinating the blitz and we aim to return the favour during the season. Before the blitz, our U12 girls put on their brand-new jerseys from our U12 girls sponsors Eamonn Costello Kerry Ltd.

A big thank to Paul Lynch from Costello’s for their support of the girl’s team. We will train at the MTU next Sunday from 11am to 12pm. The girls are all off school for the next two weeks so we would encourage all parents to take their daughters out practicing kicking, soloing and hand passing during the Easter holidays. See you all next Sunday.

U13

Our U13 game against Scartaglin did not go ahead due to no field being available. They are to play Finuge in the U13 County League Phase 1 Division 6 on Sunday 31st of March at 6pm in Finuge. Please be aware that games are subject to change.

U15

Our Under 15 panel have been back in training for the past few weeks in preparation for the Co. League which starts Wednesday evening (27th) with a game against Northern Gaels.

Throw in for this game is 6pm and the venue is Kerins O’Rahillys pitch in Ballyrickard. The wet weather we have experienced over the past few weeks has played havoc with the playing conditions of pitches and a lot of Club pitches are currently closed, hopefully the pitch in Ballyrickard will be able to host Wednesday’s match.

On Friday 29th we will have another Co league game in Ballyrickard at 6pm against Glenflesk/Kilgarvan B.

Similar to last year we are joined with Kerins O’Rahillys for Under 15 competitions and coaches Brian Murphy and Sean Daly from St Pat’s are looking forward to an active year with all these young players.

Along with the Under 15 training for the St Pat’s/KOR team a good number of our players have been participating in the St. Brendan’s Board coaching session’s at Under 14 and Under 15 level.

These sessions have been held on the Astro pitch at the MTU and have given our lads a good opportunity to train and play with players from other Clubs in the St Brendan’s District – Ardfert, Churchill and Na Gael. Thanks to Derek O’Sullivan from Churchill for organising the sessions and Lorcan Martin, Kerry GAA Games Development Co-Ordinator, for running the sessions.

At the time of writing the St Brendan’s Under 14 squad are due to play against a West Kerry squad in Castlegregory on Monday 25th at 4pm. Hopefully the forecasted bad weather didn’t prevent the game going ahead.
