Lotto

There was no winner of our Club Lotto Jackpot on Sunday night last. The numbers drawn were 13, 18, 20 & 27. The five €30 consolation prizes went to Billy Hobbart O’Rahilly’s Villas, Eamon O’Mahony Abbeydorney, Dan Kelliher Annagh, Kay O’Connor Curraheen and Niamh Murphy Derrymore.

Next week’s Lotto will have a Jackpot of €5,400 and the draw will take place this Sunday night April 3rd in Skelper Quane’s Bar. Lotto tickets are available from the usual outlets or any club officer.

Juvenile Academy

There was no training for the U6 – U10 last Sunday due to the Easter holidays, however our U8 and U10 played their first games of the year in a Go Games Blitz hosted by John Mitchel’s GAA club.

Details of the games will be given in next week’s notes. Training however continues this Sunday. With the forcast being unpredictable, we will send out a text during the week confirming times and venue.

U12’s: Our U12’s had their first game this year last Friday against a very physical Castlegregory team in Blennerville in very blustery conditions. It was a game of two halves with our players putting in a very strong first half performance playing with the wind.

However, Castlegregory came out much stronger in the second half playing with the wind and racked up a decent amount of scores as they took control of the game. The experience will hopefully stand to them as they prepare for Round 1 of the Lee Strand County League this Sunday away to Listry. Throw-in is at 6pm.

Team that played Castlegregory: Paddy Moran, Liam O’Sullivan, Shane Howarth, Lisa Rowan, Caoimhe Dairo, Callum Houston, Daniel Moriarty, James Dowling, Diamuid Griffin, Killian Lynch, Adam Hegarty, Sean Crowley, Seanie Murphy, Corey O’Shea and Fionn Dairo

U14’s: Training continues on Thursday from 6pm to 7pm on our astro turf.

U16’s:Training continues on Friday from 5.30pm to 6.30pm on our astro turf.

Girls: Outdoor training resumes on Sunday, April 3rd. All girls under the age of 12 are welcome.

Seniors

The seniors play their Second Round of the County League game away against Currow this Sunday. Throw-in time to be confirmed. Please come and show support to the team.

Feile 2016

Plans are well underway with preparations and our panel is open to new members who wish to join. We will know our visiting clubs next week. Keep an eye out on our Facebook page for more information.

County Clean Up

‘County clean-up’ day will take place on Saturday, April 2nd. Curraheen Community Council are organising a road clean-up from Tonevane Cross to Derrymore West. It is hoped that many volunteers will join us on the day to help make our road litter-free.

We will meet at the old filling station, Curraheen at 8am and we expect to be finished in about one hour (the more volunteers we have the quicker we’ll get finished). Bags, gloves and high-vis vests will be provided. Every little bit of help will be welcome.

There is a low tide on Saturday, 16th April so a clean up of Cockleshell Road, Lock gates and Blennerville area will take place. Volunteers are needed to help out on the day as the area is in a very poor condition following the various winter storms. Meeting point is at 11am at the Lock gates. Gloves and bags will be provided. Phone 087 2414681 for more details.

Congratulations

Well done to the St. Pats contingent of Paul McMahon (Capt.), Kieran Hurley, Brendan Poff, Willie Hurley and selector Adrian Greaney, who helped St. Brendan’s win their SFC qualifier match against Shannon Rangers last Friday.
