LEE Strand officially launched the 2023 Lee Strand Homework Journals recently and pupils from Tralee and Lisselton schools were chosen to display their art on the front and back covers.
Over 10,000 hardback homework journals will be distributed to national school pupils, with pupils invited to design the front and back cover of the Journal.
Ruth Foley, Lisselton NS was announced as the Front Cover Winner 2023 and won €750 for her school and a trophy, while Raheel Eldars of Presentation Primary Tralee was announced as the Back Cover Winner 2023 and won €250 for her school and a trophy.

Speaking at the launch of the Journal, Gearoid Linnane, CEO stated; “Lee Strand is delighted to offer complimentary homework journals to national school pupils over the past twelve years. This year we invited pupils to get creative and design the front and back cover. We were delighted with the response, with over 1,000 fantastic entries. We would like to congratulate Ruth & Raheel this year’s winners of our homework journal competition.”

The homework journals are valued at €4.50 each and are printed in full colour with a hardback cover for extra durability in pupils’ school bags.
They are filled with lots of interesting and educational material and are printed in English and Irish with over 140 pages.
The homework journal includes: a weekly diary where pupils can record their homework each day; a timetable to record classes & activities; a tables book featuring addition, subtraction, multiplication, division; healthy eating tips; Irish culture & heritage; spelling & grammar; teacher & parent note forms; homework tips for pupils and parents.
The homework journal also includes lots of Mighty Mikey Milk activities and after school recipes including the popular Lee Strand smoothie and cookie recipe.
