Tralee Boxing Club To Feature On Sports Documentary

Members of Tralee Boxing Club will feature on a sports documentary later this month.

TRALEE Boxing Club will feature on a documentary to air in September.

Members of the club were at their base in Monavalley on Friday evening as Sports Ireland sent a crew to interview coaches and boxers for the documentary, due to air on national media as part of European Week of Sport later this month.

The #BeActive campaign, which promotes an active and healthy lifestyle for all ages and for everybody, will run from September 23rd-30th  marking the ninth year of European Week of Sport.

“Tralee BC is picture perfect for this international campaign as boxing certainly encourages an active and healthy lifestyle that anyone of any age or ability can aspire to and work towards,” said Lynda McGrath of Tralee Boxing Club.

“Our club and its strong community ethos provides a welcoming, supportive and inclusive environment which gives beginners a kick start towards achieving their fitness and health goals.”

“Many of our regular boxers from diverse groups such as the Female Islamic community, the Ukrainian Community and Persons with disabilities or additional needs, were encouraged to tell their stories and let the world know how boxing as a sport, and being part of Tralee BC has made an impact in their lives,” said Lynda.

On behalf of the club, she thanked all involved in bringing the media crew to the club, including Conor, Jack and Martin from Future Proof Media, Colleen from Sports Ireland and Elaine and Gearoid from Kerry Sports and Recreation Partnership.

Details of where and when the documentary will be aired will be revealed at a later date.
