Tralee Clubs And Organisations To Benefit From Funding

OVER €760,000 in equipment funding for 46 Kerry sports clubs and organisations was announced earlier today by Minister Catherine Martin and Minister of State Jack Chambers.

The announcement, under the latest round of the Sports Capital and Equipment Programme (SCEP), has been welcomed by Minister for Education and Kerry TD Norma Foley and Fine Gael Kerry TD, Brendan Griffin.

Among the Tralee clubs and organisation to benefit are The Chain Gang Cycling Club, Tralee Imperials basketball, Tralee Rowing Club and Tralee Triathon Club (see full list below).

These specific grants will assist sports clubs and Governing Bodies of Sport to purchase crucial equipment necessary for the growth of their sport and it is expected that the allocation of grants for capital projects under the Programme will be announced towards the end of the year.

Priority in this tranche of funding was given to projects that will increase participation, that are located in areas with higher levels of socio-economic disadvantage and to organisations that did not receive significant funding under the Programme previously.
