Tralee LEA Had 116 New Cases Of COVID In Fortnight Up To Last Monday

THERE were 116 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Tralee Local Electoral Area in the 14 day period up to Monday, August 2, according to figures available on the Government’s COVID-19 data hub.

This is a 14-day incidence rate of 351.1 per 100,000 of the population, but still below the national incidence of 372.6 per 100,000 as of Monday, August 2. It’s now the third highest rate of the six LEAs in the county.

The Listowel Electoral Area is by far the highest with 168 new cases and a rate of 585.9 per 100,000.

The Killarney Electoral Area saw 107 new cases, a current 14-Day Incidence Rate of 361.4 per 100k of the population. There were 66 cases in the Kenmare Electoral Area (a rate of 263.3 per 100,000).

The Castleisland LEA saw 36 new cases and a rate of 210 per 100,000 while there were 20 cases in the Corca Dhuibhne area, a rate of 141 per 100,000.
