Tralee LEA Saw 169 New COVID Cases In Fortnight Up To Monday

THERE were 169 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Tralee Local Electoral Area in the 14 day period up to Monday, August 16, according to figures available on the Government’s COVID-19 data hub.

This is a rise of 45% on the the previous fortnight (up to August 2) when there were 116 new cases.

This is a 14-day incidence rate of 511.5 per 100,000 of the population, above the national incidence of 493.2 per 100,000 as of Monday, August 16. It’s still the second highest rate of the six LEAs in the county.

The LEA with the highest incidence in the county is Corca Dhuibhne with 78 new cases, a rate of 550 per 100,000. The Listowel Electoral Area saw 138 new cases and a rate of 481.3 per 100,000. The Killarney Electoral Area saw 139 new cases, a current 14-Day Incidence Rate of 469.5 per 100k of the population.

There were 90 cases in the Kenmare Electoral Area, a rate of 359.1 per 100,000 and the Castleisland LEA saw 47 new cases and a rate of 274.1 per 100,000.
