traleeparnells 2Under 16 championship:
An intense, close and exciting game out in Kilmoyley Tuesday night the 28th. Parnells started well, aided by a diagonal south westerly breeze, taking the first 2 points. However, Kilmoyley ran in a goal and followed with point to lead by 2.

Parnells stuck to their task and regained the lead, to go into the interval ahead 1-2 to 0-9. Kilmoyley were more productive in front of goal in the second half, scoring 3 more goals. Parnells too kept the scoreboard ticking over, Kenny switched to a more forward position and took a goal to go with his points tally. Cathal Dunne swept up tirelessly around the center and help set up repeated attacks.

From some of the resulting fouls, Darragh Fitzgerald sent over points for Tralee. However, Kilmoyley battled hard and regained the lead late in the game, ahead by a point. From the puck out the visitors went quickly back up the field and the resulting score, finished to the net by Luke Chester, put us into a lead that we retained to the final whistle. Final score 4-3 to 2-12. Now we await our next fixture when we face Causeway in Caherslee on Tuesday night the 5th.

Lining out for Parnells we had Robin Porter, Sean Hamilton, Sean O’Driscoll, Jim Cadogan, Darragh Keane, Cathal Dunne, Ruari O Sullivan, Darragh Reen, Mark Roche, Luke Chester, Joe Hanafin, Martin Savage, Darragh Fitzgerald, Kenny Foran, Jonathan Lowe, Cian Cronin, Terence Carmody, Tadhg Reen, Patrick Dowling.

Cul Camp 2016:
These Cul Camps are always an excellent week of hurling where children get an opportunity to improve on the skills they have already while also learning new skills from top class coaches. The camps are aimed at Boys and Girls aged between 6 and 13.

August 15th to 19th are the days of the Tralee Parnells Cul Camp. Camps are open to both the experienced and the first time hurlers or camogie players. A loan of a hurley and helmet will be provided if necessary. Please visit the link below if you wish to book a child in online or alternatively you can sign your child up on the morning of the camp. https://www.kelloggsculcamps.gaa.ie/booking/

Minor County League:
No joy for our minors Monday evening in the County League. The lads played well in patches but a few missed goal chances cost us as Kenmare/Kilgarvan won handy enough in the end. Thanks to the 16 players who traveled to Kilgarvan.

Player Profile:
Visit Parnells Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/TraleeParnellsHurlingClub/ to see a Kerry Camogie player profile of our own Kerry under 16 player Clodagh Begley.

Tralee Parnells Club Polo Top:
Tralee Parnells are looking at some nice blue pole tops available from Hennebery’s in blue with white trim. Please let mentors know if interested.
