Tralee Parnells CrestThank You Team:
Tralee Parnells Hurling & Camogie Club would like to express our huge gratitude to Tara Cullinan and her team for the “loaves and fishes” feat that fed 500 people from 4 counties, from 10 am through to 6 pm on Saturday the 3rd, at our Tralee Parnells Hurling and Camogie Big Blitz.

Under 12 Camogie:
Well done to Tralee Parnells Camogie under 12s who played with great intensity in their 2 last county league games at Kilmoyley Hurling club. Great preparation for the upcoming Camogie league final.

Scór na bPáistí:
Parnells will participate in the 2017 GAA Scór na bPáistí. We need primary school children for Team Quiz, Figure Dancing, Set Dancing, Solo Singing, Group Singing, Storytelling and Group Instrumental. Text 085 1355566 if your child is available or if you can help with the organising.

Big Blitz Referees:
Shout out to Jackie Horgan and Aoife Behan, 2 Kerry Camogie senior county players, who gave up their Saturday to referee our U12 matches .. not often teams praise referees, thank you Paudie Kelly and Newcastlewest Camogie.

CBS The Green:
Nice photo at https://www.facebook.com/TraleeParnellsHurlingClub/ of students Sean O Donoghue, Tomás O Connor & Niall O Mahoney on winning the minor hurling All Ireland B title playing for Kerry. Great achievement.

Kerry Camogie:
Had this to say on Kerry Camogie Facebook … Tralee Parnells had a very successful blitz on Saturday last with over 200 girls taking part ,9 Clubs from Clare , Cork, Limerick and host Kerry, this was a fantastic sight to see with so many young girls displaying skill and passion for the sport the love . Just want to say a big well done to everybody who made this day possible and a day to remember for all participants and involved with the clubs and here’s to making next year an event bigger and better one in 2017.

NK Under 15:
Tralee Parnells faced off against Lixnaw in the under 15 B North Kerry final at Kilmoyley Thursday evening. Both sides had played out a close match against each other along the way, but it was Lixnaw who put an early stamp on this game. Scores in the first quarter gave Lixnaw a comfortable cushion and they went into half time easily in the lead having played with the advantage of a diagonal breeze. In fairness to Parnells they came out battling strongly and the 3rd quarter, clawed back some good points and forced in a goal from close quarters. However Lixnaw settled their ship and stayed safely ahead to run out deserved winners. Parnells had only the bare fifteen on the night, we will have to improve the commitment and attendance levels across our full pool of players, if we are to have any chance of challenging seriously at this level.

Thanks Sponsors:
Thanks to Byrnes Spar, Monavalley, Caherslee & Oakpark Tralee for supplying the club with plenty of fruit and bottles of water for our blitz. Thank you to Ballymac Dairy for providing the 26+ litres of natural milk consumed at Tralee Parnells Big Blitz, and for sponsoring the perpetual cups and shields for the camogie tournaments! It’s a long time since I’ve seen children drinking cups of milk at at blitz!

Update from Laochra Óg:
From their club updates … Laochra Óg Camogie team played a Camogie Blitz in Tralee Saturday the 3rd coming out as Shield winners beating Bishopstown Camogie team in the final after playing 3 league matches, semi final and final along the way. Teams from Clare, Limerick, Kerry and Cork took part. We are a brand new Camogie team covering Macroom and the Parishes in Cork West along in Muskerry. This achievement says a lot about the girls who many never played up until this year. Girls were brilliant and gave every match their all. It was a great team performance from 1 to 17 with another 7 who unfortunately couldn’t make this special day. Thanks to Tralee Parnells for holding the Blitz, great hospitality and the fantastic facilities at John Mitchels GAA grounds outside Tralee. Thank you to parents who send their children to play with us and support what we are doing along the way. Team Captain on the day was Aine Sheehan and she was presented with the shield by Tralee Parnells Hurling Club President Eileen Cotter.
