IT was a momentous day in Croke Park on Saturday for Kerry hurling, with the Kingdom beating Derry by 1-20 to 0-12 to collect their second ever Christy Ring Cup.

From Lixnaw to the Liffey, here was the reaction on Twitter.

It’s official, John ‘Tweak’ Griffin lifts the cup high at headquarters.

Castledrum National School, outside Castlemaine, showed their support for the team with a colours day.

The great Brendan Cummins, was a terrific asset to the team all year as goalkeeper coach.

Manager Eamonn Kelly’s club in Tipperary were taking notice.

Team coach, Conor Gleeson, also a Tipperary man was receiving plaudits from the Premier.

For once in the county, the footballers had to take a back seat.

Martin Ferris is a neighbour of a lot of the players on the side.

A man who is also no stranger to North Kerry was offering his congratulations.

Two Crotta men, Sean Weir and Shane Nolan, were beaming with smiles post match

It was Nolan who was the star of the show hitting a goal and eight points.

Jubilant scenes out on the pitch with family, friends and the Kerry hurling fraternity all involved.

The GAA former president, Sean Kelly, was getting in on the act also.

It wasn’t long before sights were set on 2016.
