THERE were dramatic scenes when a car caught fire on the road adjacent to the Holy Family School playground on Friday afternoon.
Nobody was hurt in the incident which occurred between 2.20pm and 2.35pm.
TraleeToday.ie was passing at the time and took the video (below) of the incident. When we arrived, smoke was billowing from the engine but in a matter of minutes the entire bonnet was ablaze and there were real fears among those present that the vehicle, a silver Ford Focus (unconfirmed), would explode.
Within five minutes of our arrival, the fire service came and put out the blaze.
It is not clear at this time what caused the fire.
