OVER €12,000 was raised at the ‘Kerry GAA Stars Lovely Legs Competition’ held in the Fels Point Hotel on Saturday night according to organiser Andrea O’Donoghue.
Hosted by RTE’s Miriam O’Callaghan, it was a fantastic occasion attended by over 400 people, all in aid the Palliative Care Unit at Kerry General Hospital.
“It was absolutely fantastic,” said Andrea. “I was overwhelmed with the crowds that turned up. We sold 700 tickets for it beforehand, but more people turned up at the door without tickets on the night. We think there was over 400 there. Miriam was amazing and posed for photos with people all night, she said she really enjoyed it.”

The Kerry GAA legends got a waxing (see previous story here) and there was also an auction of sporting memorabilia including a signed Kerry jersey featuring the Kerry team and a jockey’s pants with the signatures of top names from the racing world.
“A lot of things were auctioned on the night, but there’s still a few things that have bids on them. They should be sold soon,” said Andrea.
Well done to all on a great night.
