THEY’LL be busy men.

With the arrival of the Roses yesterday, it was the signal for the Rose Escorts to begin their duties for the week.

To help them along, a make-up tutorial was arranged for the lads on Wednesday morning at CH Chemists.

We caught up with the Kerry Escorts who were really enjoying the week and looking forward to attending to the Roses’ every need.

They haven’t been paired with Roses yet, but it happens they’ll be prepared!

“We got a chance to meet the Roses last night at the Greyhound Track. It should be a great week ahead,” said Thomas Lynch from Castleisland.

“The excitement is really building up now,” said Shane Thornton from Listowel. “The racetrack last night was unbelievable, meeting the girls and breaking the ice, so to speak. We’re getting into the swing of things now.”

“There’s a great buzz now. It’s going well so far and it was great to finally get to meet everyone last night,” said Jackie Healy Rae, son of TD Michael.

Tralee man, Joseph Meehan, was also having a ball.

“The place is buzzing now that it’s started. It’s funny to be on this side as I would have been a spectator down the years. I’m seeing the town from a different side now,” said Joseph.

“It’s a great experience so far,” said Sean O’Connor from Waterville. “It’s great to see it all taking shape now and meeting the Roses was great. We’re all just looking forward to the week ahead.”

The escorts are certainly making some noise as you can see them marching up the Mall this morning in this video from the Rose of Tralee Facebook page…
