HUNDREDS fifth and sixth class pupils and their parents had a busy Thursday night as two schools in town held open nights.
CBS The Green and Presentation Secondary School were hardly in competition for their attentions though, as both are single-sex schools. In fact, there was a cross-collaboration aspect to the evening, as pupils from Pres and CBS took part in each others event.
It was a chance to show prospective pupils all they could offer, which is quite a lot judging by the show they both put on.

In Presentation, the staff and students pulled out all the stops with stands set up, tours of the classes, science demos, cooking demos (the aromas from the home economics room were worth the visit alone) and much more.
“We’re absolutely thrilled with the evening and the numbers of people who showed up,” said Principal of Presentation Tralee, Mary Kennelly. “I’m so grateful to our teaching staff and the pupils who have been amazing all night. They took part in the choir, some spoke at the address to those attending earlier and they manned every room. I’m very appreciative for the colossal work which has gone into the night,” she added.
It was a similar story over in CBS The Green where massive crowds showed up. Again, the teachers and students worked together to make sure the parents and pupils were well-informed of the facilities at the school. Scroll down for photos…
