SCOIL Naomh Erc, Glenderry, held an action day on Thursday last to support the Greenschools, Active Schools and Health Promoting Schools Programmes.
Pupils from Green-Schools all over Ireland come together during National Walk to School Week to show their support for a greener, healthier environment by encouraging pupils, parents and teachers to walk to school wherever possible.
Pupils who would generally travel to school by car began a week of walking to school in groups. All children dressed in green colours and were treated to a healthy breakfast on arrival organised by teachers and parents.
Over the coming week, pupils will take part in a variety of active games within the school to promote Active Schools Week 2015.
