IT’S nearly time for the St Patricks Day parade in Tralee and final preparations are being made for a fantastic day of entertainment tomorrow.

‘Cúpla Focal’ is this year’s theme and spectators can expect to see a colourful display of floats, vibrant marching bands, dancers and traditional Irish music and entertainment on the day, while local Community Garda Mary Gardiner will be Grand Marshal.

The parade will kick off at 12 noon from the John Joe Sheehy Road and wind its way through the heart of the town. It’s a bit early to say for sure if the weather will hold, but at the moment showers are forecast.

Members of the public are advised that the following roads will be temporarily closed to facilitate the parade from 10:30am to 12:30pm on John Joe Sheehy Road, from
11:30am to 2:30pm on Boherbee, Upper & Lower Castle Street, Denny Street and Ivy Terrace.

Organisers have engaged with the street theatre spectacle company Artastic from Kildare for this year’s parade. Artastic are renowned for their wonderful visual creations, many of which feature in the Dublin St Patrick’s Day Parade each year.

In addition to the parade, there will be a host of other events and activities taking place throughout the day in Tralee.

The town will come alive with music, dancing, food, and fun, creating a lively and festive atmosphere that’s sure to delight locals and visitors alike.

Tralee Chamber and Kerry County Council encourage spectators to line the streets and would like to thank all the participants, volunteer, and sponsors who make the parade possible.
