Minor County league Semi Final

BALLYMAC 1—14 FOSSA 4—9

We played Fossa at home in the County League semi.final last Friday evening.Played in a sporting manner throughout with refree Seamus Mulvihill and his team doing a fine job.

A difficult start to each half along with injuries to key players made our task much harder. We were seven points down midway through the second half which was gradually reduced to three before Fossa kicked on again.

The visitors were 2-3 to 1-1 ahead after ten minutes both our score,s coming from captain Daire Reagan with help from Barry Lyons and James Mcdonnell.

Two ML Hoare points and one each from Daire Keane and Dylan Dunne brought us closer as we came more into the game.D Reagan pointed from a free after D Dunne was fouled, while Fossa got two more points to leave the half-time score Ballymac 1-6 Fossa 2-5.

Again Fossa started the second half the better side quickly scoring 1-2. Aidan o Brien and Daire Keane helped Josh o Keeffe and Keelan Brosnan and D Reagan score 3 points but once more Fossa goaled at the other end.Two D Reagan points and one each from ML Hoare and Tadhg Brick narrowed the gap to three points with about 5 minutes left. The visitors pointed again , ML Hoare replied for us , with Fossa pointing again to leave 4 points between the sides at the end. Josh o Keeffe, Cathal Dunne, Dylan Dunne Moriarty and Cian Godley along with those mentioned tried hard for us on an evening when a spirited comeback just wasn,t enough Best wishes to Eddie Rodgers, James McDonnell, and ML Hoare who were all injured in the course of the game .

Ardfert started the second half the brighter and had registered two more points before Aidan O’ Brien kicked a point for Ballymac. A free from David Rogers ended up in the Ardfert net and four more points from each side left the final score at Ardfert 0-18 Ballymac 2-06.
