Senior Team
Next Saturday night our Senior team travel to Listry to play the home team in Round 3 of The Credit Union Senior Football League 2021. The game is at 7.30pm on Saturday 3rd July.
At the moment the away supporters to games are limited to 25. Anyone wishing to go to the game is asked to contact Club Secretary Fionnán Fitzgerald by text on 087-9860441.

GAA Foundation Coaching Course in-house.

Minor Football League Div 2 Round 3
Ballymacelligott 4-11 Firies 1-16
Our u 17s played Firies in Ballymac in Round 3 of the County League in Glorious sunshine in Ballymac on Monday night last.
A minutes silence was observed by the home side prior to kick off as a mark of respect to the late Breda Sugrue former secretary of Ballymac Coiste na nÓg .
Our boys got off to a tonic start with a goal and 2 points from Maurice O’ Connell , great distribution coming from our midfielders. Sean Rice soon hit the back of the net following lovely free flowing football from the home side . Firies replied with a few points of their own , but Ballymac s forwards were well on top as Gary Lynch had the ball in the net for the home sides 3 rd goal to put Ballymac in a good position coming to half time .
Firies soon replied with a goal , but a second goal from Sean Rice had us leading at half-time on the score line of 4-06 to 1 10 .
Firies had the first point of the second half, but Ballymac soon replied from the boot of Donal Daly . Ballymac s defence were getting to grips with the Firies fowards but Ballymac kept the scoreboard ticking over with further points from Niall Collins,Donal Daly & Maurice o Connell
Our boys stood firm in the last 5 mins and ran out winners on a scoreline of 4 11 to 1 16 .
Niall Collins, Raymond Lowe ,Maurice O’Connell,Sam Mansfield,Eoin Creedon ,Gary Lynch,Sean Rice & Skye Lynch gave an outstanding performance,
Donal Daly put in a great hours work covering every part of the pitch .
Our defence can be proud of their efforts and really played as a unit tonight .
Luke O’Connell,Mossie Brennan and Andy Rogers played like players inspired.
Our half backs really stood firm & can be proud of their achievements, Luke & Aidan Horgan and the ever reliable Diarmuid Galvin .
Our Goalie Kieran Slattery had a great game and his kick outs started many an attack for us.
We wish James Kenny a speedy recovery from his injury.
Overall a great team performance, and now we look forward to a Semi final against Milltown / Castlemaine in a couple of weeks time .

U15 Boys
On Wednesday evening last a total of 32 players took to our field to represent the club in County League action with the Blue and Gold teams. Well done to all the players, coaches, parents and club for making this happen.
Division 9A Gold Team v Dr Crokes
The first game threw in at 6pm against the Killarney boys and our lads assumed control early on getting our first point from the boot of Alex Riordan followed by a goal from the hard-working Gearoid Healy from midfield. Alex again along with Shane Brosnan added two more points to stretch our lead to 1-03 to no score before the Crokes registered their first score of the half. They went on to add another two scores before halftime but in the same period our boys put another two goal from Sam Slattery and two points from Jamie Burke to leave the halftime score 3-05 to 0-03 to our boys.
The second half played out with Conor Martin scoring another goal along with two points from Ciaran O’Connell. Luke Griffin in goals and the young Padraig Reidy at half back really showed up well all through the game. The final score was 4-07 to 1-05 in our favour. Well done to both teams and thanks to Dr Crokes for a very sporting game.
Division 3A Blue Team v Churchill
A keenly contested game from start to finish ended with our boys getting over the line by the minimum against an excellent footballing side in Churchill. Goals win matches they say, and that’s how this game played out at the end, on a scoreline of 4-04 to 0-15.
Defensively our boys protected their goal mouth excellent throughout the game with Cian Harris in outstanding form in goals saving a penalty with ten minutes to go in the second half to add to some great saves during the game.
Our backs stuck to their task all through tracking the fast and nippy Churchill forwards every move. Our two midfielders worked so hard for the hour with Eoin Moriarty scoring a great goal in the first half. Up front Michéal Savage led the way contributing 1-4(2f) from full forward with Luke Silles putting a goal to his name also.
Down two points with a few minutes to go the hardy and hard-working Jack Joy burst down the centre of the Churchill defense and stuck the ball in the net, off his weaker right foot, to the delight of all the Ballymac supporters present. Great heart and never say die attitude was the hallmark of the boys play on the night. Well done boys.
Thanks to Churchill for a very sporting game and one must acknowledge their point taking throughout the game.

U13 Gold team
Our u13 Boys Gold team welcomed Na Gaeil to Ballymac on Sunday last.
The visitors had the edge at the end of the first quarter leading by a point and by half time had extended their advantage to four.
Their dominance continued in quarter three which saw them up by seven entering the last quarter.
This part of the game saw our Boys play their best football and stormed their way back into the game with every player giving his all for the jersey.
A disallowed goal and a free kick that hit the crossbar meant the bit of luck necessary to swing the game in our favour wasn’t with us.
At the final whistle just a point separated the sides with Na Gaeil the victors on a 3-8 to 3-7 scoreline.
Next game up sees us travel to play Kerins O Rahillys.
U13 Ballymac Blue Team
Ballymac and Fossa U13 Boys teams served up a fabulous game of football in Ballymac on Sunday evening last.
Throughout the game play swung from end to end.
Ballymac had the advantage of the breeze in the first half but at half time found themselves level on a score-line Ballymac 3-4 Fossa 2-7.
In the second half we played our best football of the Year with all the lads really upping their performance and at one stage led by 7 points. However Fossa fought back to reduce the deficit but Ballymac fought to the end to ensure victory on a 5-10 to 4-11 final score.
Best for us on the night were Tommy Walsh, Cian Gilroy and Jackson Brosnan in defence, Padraig Reidy had his best game of the season at midfield while forwards Sean Martin, Ryan Burke and Eoghan Joy in his new position of full forward impressed.
Next Sunday sees us travel to Rathmore for a Round 4 game where a similar performance will hopefully result in another victory.

Ballymac u11 Boys Blue Team Match Report
3rd Game Phase 1 County Football Go Games 24th June
The U11 Blue Team travelled to Kilcummin on a wet and windy Thursday evening.
This was, as the saying goes, a game of two halves, due to a strong wind on the night. Our boys played against the wind in the first half and found the wet conditions difficult to play in with passing and ball handling proving difficult for both teams. We found it difficult to get out of our own half for long stretches but when we did Gearoid O’Connor managed to score a fine goal and Patrick Leen chipped in with a point to keep us in touch. Eric Quirke had his shot, for what looked like a certain goal, superbly saved by the Kilcummin goalkeeper.
Kilcummin played some fine football in this period, however our defenders Gearoid Joy, Harvey Leen, Diarmuid Scanlon and Eric Quirke put in a big shift to keep us within reach at half time.
The second half saw us play with the wind and it was raining as well by now. Adrian O’Connor opened his account with two wonderful points from play. Another point followed shortly after from the classy Patrick Leen.
We were starting to get a grip on the game at this stage and Gearoid Joy showed he can play in any position by chipping in with a fine goal. Just before the water break, Jack Lynch had to come off injured which left us with just 10 players.
Kilcummin were great sports and gave us one of their players to even up the numbers. At the water break they sent over their talisman, a young man called Darragh Keane, nephew of Kerry manager Peter Keane. Darragh is one of the finest players we have come across in this division and is certainly one to keep an eye out for in the future. Adrian combined very well with our new recruit and popped over a few more points from play. Eric Quirke provided a wonderful assist to Tadhg O’Connor who has now scored a goal in every match.
Others to play well on the night were Ciarán Brosnan who played in attack and defence, Harvey Leen who is turning into a powerhouse in defence and Jamie Harrington who showed fine skills in goals.
This was a very even match with conditions very much dictating a lot of the scores. Thanks to Kilcummin for a competitive and enjoyable game and we look forward to our next game at home to Dr Crokes on Thursday 1st July.
Match Report Ballymac U11 Gold Team
Last Thursday night Ballymac under 11 gold team travelled to Kilcummin to play in the third round of the Go Games Div 1 county league.
Again like , last week, we knew that we were in for a battle especially as we travelled to the game it had started raining and as we had never played in wet conditions so far this season, we didn’t know what to expect.
But as it turned out we need not have worried. As the ball was thrown in the rain had turned to a light mist which made conditions quite slippery. Again Ballymac were fast out the blocks and were attacking the Kilcummin goals and only for some brilliant goalkeeping by their keeper, Ballymac would have scored a handful of goals. They definitely found a man in form as he managed to save great efforts from Regan Zhang and Darragh Lyons, including a chip over the keeper only to miss by inches. But we finally got a breakthrough and got a goal midway through the first half as well as a couple of points. Kilcummin then hit a purple patch taking scores which included a couple of goal chances but with our defence in great form again and great goalkeeping by Darragh Leen who was called in to action time and time during the game we kept their scoring to a minimum.
After halftime Ballymac who were now playing into a slight breeze really got into their stride and within a couple of minutes had scored 3 points , the pick of these was a long range point from Flynn Boyle, who again with his midfield partner Jack Hobbert covered ever piece of grass. Like the first half our defence was outstanding with Rory O’Connor, Blake Leen, Keelan Burke, Gerard McElligott and David Fealy.
Our forwards again put in a massive shift with some great fielding by our full forwards Darragh Lyons, Jack Stack, Aidan O’Connor, Regan Zhang and Dylan Scanlon in very sticky conditions.
In the last play of the game Ballymac scored a brilliant team goal. A massive save from Darragh Leen who pasted the ball to Rory O’Connor who in turn played a one two with Flynn Boyle placed the ball straight into the arms of Keelan Burke who hit the back the Kilcummin net. A brilliant way to end a really exciting game in tough conditions. A big thanks again to our great support that travelled to Kilcummin last night. Ballymac Abú! Next up is Dr. Crokes on Thursday night next at home.
U9 Boys
Ballymac U9 Boys teams thrilled to be playing in the County Go Games at home in Ballymac last Thursday night.
It was an incredible evening at Ballymac training pitch on Wednesday 23rd June. The U9 Ballymac boys played some fantastic football against Spa Killarney. There was a great crowd and Ballymac fielded 2 teams.
The standard of football was simply brilliant. We are very proud of our U9 boys. You made all the U9 coaches very happy with all your skills.
Míle buíochas to our own two U17 Ballymac footballers, Eoin Creedon and Mossie Brennan who refereed the games.
Thanks to Spa Killarney for two very good competitive games and for travelling over to Ballymac. What a great start to the Go Games!!!!
Our next Go game will be against Na Gaeil with time and date still to be confirmed.

Our academy players enjoyed practicing their new passing, bouncing, soloing and kicking skills in the sunshine on Sunday morning. It’s lovely to see their confidence growing both on and off the ball every week. Their fitness levels are definitely increasing too, with a very fast paced game of Sharks and Fishes to end the session.

Ballymac Blue Senior ladies played Listowel away in Round 2 of the North Kerry League. Despite playing a team ranked well above them the Ballymac ladies put in a really good performance with the defense playing really well. Playing against a strong wind in the first half they were 2pts ahead going into half time. However the experience and quality of the Listowel forwards was there to be seen in the second half with some great point kicking. A very good performance by the girls on the night.

Ballymac Gold 0-03 Kerins O Rahillys 4-05
Our Gold Senior ladies team played KOR in Ballymac on Friday evening. The team made up of senior and u16 players battled hard and were well in the game up to the final 10 mins. Strand road then scored a couple of late goals to gloss up the result in their favour.
The decision to play a second senior team in the North Kerry League is proving to be a good one with girls getting lots of valuable game time and experience.

The game that our Ladies had been waiting for, testing themselves against the very best…annual champions Southern Gaels. Ballymac had Aoibhinn Broderick and Ciara Palmer back from injury, but we had lost Laura Sugrue who was away on holiday and Kerry Hennessy who was injured.
We had a very hotly contested first quarter which was nip and tuck the score line was 1-2 Ballymacelligott 2-3 Southern Gaels. Alexa Weiss getting our goal with points from Ella Quirke and Rachel Creedon. However the second quarter, just like last week away to Fossa, was to be our undoing. We just scored one point from Jill Quirke to leave us trailing at halftime 1-3 to 3-8.
Our defence was under considerable pressure, as our girls just fought tooth and nail to stem the tide with a fantastic rear-guard action.
The third quarter saw us slowly but surely coming back into the game, with us notching 1-1, both coming from Rachel Creedon.
They say you save the best for the last and what an enthralling final quarter we were to witness. Ballymac were to score 3-2 in this quarter, with a Maradona v England style goal from the irrepressible Roisin Rahilly, who slalomed through the opposition defence to bury the ball into the back of the net. Southern Gaels showed their class though in reacting to each of our scores with goals and points themselves. The final score line read 5-7 Ballymac 8-9 Southern Gaels.
Special mention needs to go to Rachel Creedon on scoring a marvellous 3-3 on the night.

The fixture on a beautiful evening and immaculate pitch took our girls to Currow throw in was 6.30pm.
Off the back of a win against Beale the Ballymac girls began strongly with two early goals against the breeze. The Ballymac midfield linked up with Abigail Geary at full forward who made no mistake rattling the back of the Currow net in quick succession.
Currow came back with a goal and two points before Abigail struck again for two further goals. Closing out the half, Currow struck for a further two goals and two points but this was countered by Ballymac’s Michelle O’Connor who got in for a goal and two points late on.

Regrouping for the second half the girls were aware of the threat the Currow forwards posed. Equipped with the knowledge we had reached the five goal limit, instructions were issued to go for points in the second half.
Immediately it was Abigail Geary who struck for two fisted points extending the lead to six. Although another team might drop the heads at this stage it was nip and tuck to the end with Currow never giving up. Currow added 1:04 in the second half while Ballymac notched up 8 points.

The report suggests it was a game of forwards however the Ballymac defence performed to the highest standard. In particular the Healy sisters (Sorcha at Full Back and Aideen at half back were outstanding)
Alice Savage at Half back cleared the lines time and time again with some sterling defensive play. Aoibheann Sheehan in goals was rock solid protecting the goal line time and time again. Olivia Sweeney, Emily Heffernan and Sinead Scanlon were their dependable best in defence on the night.
The midfield pairing of Molly and Michelle O’Connor had their work cut out for them with their opposite numbers full of football and ability.However, the Ballymac pairing pulled clear in the second half delivering some great attacking balls into the forwards and both girls getting in for scores.
Grace Kelly, Fiona McCarthy, Kate O’Neill and Caitlin Scanlon were hungry upfront looking to get in on a lot of action. Tara Slattery was menacing all evening and picked off an excellent point from play in the second half. Abigail Geary mentioned for scores earlier put in a sterling performance at full forward.
We look forward to our next outing away to Ballyduff on Monday 28th @ 7pm.

Ballymac U9 Girls who travelled to Castleisland Desmonds last Sunday for a challenge game .
Well done to our U9 girls team who travelled to Castleisland Desmonds on Sunday 27th of June for a challenge match. There was a great turn out with super football and lots of smiles all round. Both our Blue and Gold team preformed fantastically. Both games were free flowing and high scoring. Players, coaches and parents enjoyed the games equally. Thanks to our hosts Castleisland Desmonds for the enjoyably challenge.
