Senior Ladies
Our Senior Ladies took on Legion in a Corrib Oil sponsored Senior League relegation playoff on Monday evening last in Ballymac.

Previous meetings between these sides were tight games and this match was no exception.

The home side started the brighter and points by Eve Creedon set up by her sister Rachel, Sarah Scanlon and Kate Collins saw them take an early lead, Legion hit back with points of their own to reduce the gap but some excellent combination play by the Sugrue sisters Ellie and Laura saw the latter apply an excellent finish to the Legion net to extend the Ballymac lead.

Ellie followed up with a well taken point to put Ballymac in a good position at half time leading on a 1-5 to 0-4 scoreline.

Two quick points from the boot of Kate Collins extended the lead and at this stage it seemed a home victory was assured, however the Killarney side upped their game and dominated for most of the rest of the half, our defence with the experience of Niamh Rahilly and Una Morrissey and Minors Emma Daly, Laura Kelly, Ciara Kerins and Rachel Griffin had to be at their best to keep them at bay while goalkeeper Kerry Hennessey had to be alert on several occasions.

This domination saw them level the game with five minutes remaining, excitement was now fever pitch as both sides strove for the vital   score that would win the game. The Ballymac midfield of Ashling O Connell and Keelin Enright really came in to the game at this stage to set up chances for the home side.

With time almost up Ballymac won a free which Sarah Scanlon cooly slotted over the bar to seal the victory.

Full credit to both sides for making little of the damp conditions on the night and serving up an exciting game of football on the night.

This Monday night they will play Cromane at home at 7.30pmin the Donal Curtin Cup a home support would be great for our Ladies
