LEINSTER CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP
St. Columbas (Longford) exited the Leinster Senior Club Championship on Sunday last following a defeat to St. Vincents of Dublin.  The team was backboned by the McElligott brothers whose fathers Dan a native of Caher in Ballymac gave many years of service to our Club.
FAOI 14 REVIEW
We competed in Division 2 of the Co. League and victories over Ballyduff, Fossa, Desmonds and Firies and a loss to Castlegregory in the group stages saw us qualify for a semi final against Na Gael.  On the night the Tralee side proved too strong for us.  The highlight of the year for the lads was our participation in Feile where we were placed in a highly competitive Division 2.

A victory over Desmonds and losses to Castlebar Mitchels and Dunshaughlin of Meath who we hosted saw us qualify for a quarter final game against Fossa.  The lads never played to their full potential and it was the East Kerry side who progressed.  The Annual Eric Mason Blitz was once again a very well run event and many thanks to all who contribute to its continuing success.

Ballymac topped their group with victories over Ardfert and Austin Stacks which saw them qualify for a semi final with Desmonds.  It was Castleisland boys who prevailed to qualify for our final against Austin Stacks in which the Tralee side emerged victorious.  The final competition of the year for the lads was the Coiste Tra Li Division 2 in which we defeated Na Gael in the final.
For the first time in the Clubs history we entered a second U14 team in Club competitions.  They got their year off to a wonderful start with a victory in their Division of the Co. League.  Participation in Feile where we hosted Boston will also have fond memories for the boys as it gave them games against team from other counties and countries.
U13 Rose Shield Winners
Our U13 team were Rose Shield Winners with a comprehensive victory over Miltown Castlemaine in the final.  They reached this final with victories over Kilcummin, St. Pauls Limerick and Legion.  Well done to all involved in this great victory.
FLEMBY/BALLYMACTHOMAS CELEBRATIONS
A great crowd attended the Ballymacthomas and Flemby Anniversary celebrations. There was great interest in the old roll books and photos. All these can still be viewed over the next few weeks. Further copies of the commemorative booklets and calendars will be available later in the week.
