Five To Appear In Court After Cemetery Incident

garda 2FIVE men, between the ages of 15 and 34, will appear in court today in relation to the incident at Rath Cemetery yesterday in which one 24 year old male received stab wounds.

Gardaí in Tralee are still investigating the public order incident and the assault of the  man which occurred at Rathass Cemetery, Tralee, on Tuesdayat approximately 12.30pm.

The man received stab wounds in an incident with a number of other males. He was taken to Kerry General Hospital with non life threatening injuries.

Gardaí arrested six males, aged between 15 and 34 years, after stopping two cars a short time later in connection with the incident.

A number of weapons/knives were recovered from both cars. They were detained at Tralee, Killarney and Castleisland Garda Stations under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 as amended.

Five of the males were charged and will appear before Tralee District Ct at 11am this morning. One male was released without charge investigations are ongoing.
