Thankfully, it’s the weekend and while it’s a bit of a quiet one, there’s still a few things you can get up to…

Friday

1. Check out some art…

Students from Kerry College of Further Education will hold an exhibition and CD launch in The Ashe Hotel.

The QQI Level 6 Art, Craft and Design Post Leaving Certificate students showcase their talents from 6pm to 8pm at ‘The Pursuit Of Artiness’, while music on the evening will be performed by the QQI Level 5 KCFE Music students as they launch their new CD at the event. Admission free and art is for sale on the night.

2. Musical treat…

Tralee Musical Society is continuing its run of ‘Children of Eden’ at Siamsa Tíre on Friday and Saturday night.

It’s going down very well with audiences with amazing production  values, musical score and performances. For tickets (€19/€17) click on this link to go to the Siamsa Tíre booking page.

Saturday

3. A morning’s work…

The County Clean-Up takes place on Saturday and you can still get involved.

The Tralee Tidy Towns group are meeting up on Saturday morning at 9.30am at McDonalds Carpark in Manor. All are welcome and will be given high viz, gloves , bags etc.

McDonalds are kindly giving tea/coffee to all the helpers afterwards. There’s also a clean-up of the Lockgates and canal area at 11am.

Sunday

4. Now we’re cooking…

Blennerville Playschool is holding a Food Demonstration in association with Croí Restaurant at Blennerville school. Tralee Culinary Gangsters will be demonstrating how to cook wild, local, fresh foraged food.

Adults are asked to please bring the children along for the Cupcake Decorating Workshop in the adjacent play school. Tickets are available from Laura or Fiona on 086-3466115.

5. A bakesale at St Brendan’s…

A bakesale will take place between 10am and 2pm at St Brendan’s Pastoral Centre. All proceeds raised will go towards Cystic Fibrosis Ireland and all are welcome, so call in before or after Mass if you’re around.
