It’s going to be a very busy weekend in town with a parade, the Christmas lights turned on and more…

Friday

1. A history of Ardfert…

A screening of the new offering from local film producer, James McCarthy and his wife Catherine, featuring the village of Ardfert will take place tonight in Siamsa Tire.

The two hour film ‘Ardfert — A Historical Gem’ was two years in the making. The village is steeped in history, from St Brendan the navigator to Roger Casement, and much more. It’s a must for Ardfert people or anyone with an interest in history. It begins at 7pm and admission is €15.

2. Parnells launch adult camogie…

Tralee Parnells will officially launch the revival of adult camogie in the Tralee area at 8pm at the Meadowlands Hotel.

The club is welcoming potential players, aged 16 and upwards; there is no maximum age limit; no previous experience is necessary.

Also welcome are potential coaches, mentors, administrators, sponsors and all supporters of a Tralee Parnells adult camogie team starting in 2019.

Saturday

3. CH kick-off Christmas…

The annual CH Tralee Christmas parade will truly begin the Christmas season in town from 2pm. Hundreds of families will line the route where Santa and Mrs Claus, along with many familiar characters, arrive on floats to The Mall.

There’ll be balloons, music and much more, with Rose of Tralee, Kirsten Mate Maher also taking part in the fun. Then Santa arrives at CH Chemists where he’ll be in residence at Santaland until Christmas Eve.

4. Light ’em up!…

The Rose of Tralee, Kirsten Mate Maher, and the Mayor of Tralee, Cllr Graham Spring, will switch on the Christmas Lights in The Square, Tralee at 5pm, heralding the start of five weeks of Festive fun in Kerry’s Shopping Capital.

There’s always a great atmosphere with music so bring the family and marvel at the fantastic lights around the town.

5. Fashion and food…

Connect Publications is hosting their annual Ladies Lunch and Fashion Afternoon at the Ashe Hotel Tralee with a Christmas Bellini Reception.

Ladies can avail of the final make up touches at Alfie’s Powder Rooms, lots of gift ideas on display here too for those looking for gift ideas, then it’s off to the main room for a delicious 4 course luncheon with complimentary wines.
