Friday

1. Party time…

This weekend Tralee will be party central as businesses and groups hit the pubs, hotels and restaurants for their annual shindig.

Even if you’ve nothing organised, there should be great fun to be had, so get into the festive spirit(s) and hit the town.

2. Christmas carols…

The expanded National Folk Theatre Choir celebrates the season of goodwill with ‘Ceiliúradh Na Nollag – Celebrating Christmas’ in Siamsa Tíre on Friday night.

The programme for this evening will feature a mixture of traditional carols along with some beautiful Irish airs. With special guests The O’Neill Sisters and some festive nibbles to start off the evening, there’s sure to be a little piece of Christmas to suit everyone’s taste. It starts at 8pm. Tickets €17/€15.

3. Home again for Warriors…

After the disappointment of losing the cup game to UCC Demons on Wednesday, Garvey’s Tralee Warriors take on Maree on Saturday night in the last Super League game in Tralee for 2017. The game tips off at 8.00pm and a huge crowd as usual is expected.

The Warriors took the League points with an 87-74 win when the sides met in Oranmore in September and will be looking to make home advantage count in front of a packed Sports Complex crowd this weekend. Supporters are advised to get to the Complex early.

4. Fair day at St  John’s Ashe Street…

TEACH an tSolais at St John’s Ashe Street will be a busy spot this Saturday as the parish hosts a Christmas Fair from 10am to 4pm.

The Fair has returned after a break of three years and there’s some great prizes including a weekend away at Breaffy House Resort in Mayo and a wonderful Fremax bicycle worth €500 which will be auctioned on the day.

There’ll also be Christmas decorations for sale as well as CDs and books, home-baking and preserves and clothes. Admission is €2 and children under 12 are free.
