Gardaí Investigate Incidents Of Assault And Burglary In Tralee

GARDAI are investigating after a man was assaulted with a crutch in the town centre.

The incident took place in the Square/Abbeycourt area in the past number of days and was posted on social media.

Gardaí have seen footage of the incident and are looking to speak to the people involved or any witnesses.

One man was hitting another with a crutch while people looked on in the area near the Christie Hennessy statue.

Gardaí are also looking for the public’s help after a burglary at a shop at the Island of Geese, between 8pm on Thursday, July 12 and 7.45am on Friday, July 13.

The front door of the shop was forced open and a number of items were taken. Gardaí are appealing for anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area to contact them.

Also, on Thursday, July 5, between 3pm and 3.30pm in Caherslee, a woman was taking items out of her car and left a baby bag on the footpath.

When she returned a short time later the baby bag was gone. The bag also contained her purse, passport and a mobile phone.
