Kerry Tidy Towns Groups Receive Funding As Go-Ahead Given For This Year’s Competition

THE annual Tidy Towns contest will go ahead this year, Minister for Rural and Community Development Heather Humphreys has confirmed today.

Tralee Tidy Towns secured its eighth Gold Medal in a row back in 2019 and will hope another supreme effort will be made by volunteers to retain its status.

The competition was cancelled last year, but it will go ahead in 2021 in the same format as previous years with a move towards electronic entries and remote adjudication of each town’s entry.

The Minister also announced that over 800 Tidy Town Groups in Ireland, including 33 in Kerry, have been awarded grants of up to €1,000 under the Tidy Towns Fund.
