A MAN has died in a road accident near Ballyheigue this evening.
The man, believed to be in his mid-30s and from the area, was riding a motorcycle which crashed at a grotto two miles outside the village at about 6.45pm this evening.
The man’s motorcycle struck the footpath and a roadside pillar. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has been taken to University Hospital Kerry, Tralee where a post mortem is to be arranged. The man was the sole occupant of the motorcycle.
The road is currently closed to facilitate Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Diversions are in place.
