It also features acts at the top of their game and this year the programme sees handpicked acts from Ireland, Canada, Argentina, Italy, Spain, Germany, Sweden, Belgium and France who are set to thrill, delight and amaze the lucky audiences.

Today sees workshops begin at the KDYS, the MTU and Moyderwell. Kerry County Museum has a film night tonight at 8pm to 9pm featuring two short Laurel and Hardy films. Admission for this is free for festival pass holders and €5 for walk ups.

Friday’s highlights include the parade from St John’s Ashe Street to the top of Denny Street from 6.30pm. That’s followed by a fireworks display at 7.15pm on Denny Street.

There’s plenty more events in Siamsa Tire and other venues throughout the weekend. View the full programme and purchase tickets from €5-€70 at www.circusfestival.ie
