Orlagh Winters ProfileOK so it is too warm to wear a jacket or coat yet so what is the solution, especially for that special occasion? A Pashmina of course!

Strolling through town on Saturday I popped in to ‘That’s Perfect’ where there is every possible colour and print available.

The great thing about businesses that have experienced owners or staff, is that they share their knowledge with you. This is certainly the case with Carmel Russell in That’s Perfect.

Carmel treats all her customers like friends and offers a top class service. For those of you who will be attending any winter weddings I would highly recommend a visit to see the top class range of accessories.

Shoe Rack was another shop I paid a visit to and for those of you looking for a wide choice of boots a visit in to see Mary and the girls should be top of your agenda.

What is wonderful about Shoe Rack is the affordable prices for a great product. There is an array of wedge boots, shoe boots and of course the ever popular knee-highs. Black is obviously the best seller but there is also a lovely collection of brown and is well worth checking out.

While walking through town I was drawn to the window of Connolly Jewellers. I have purchased some pieces in the past and I have no doubt that I will be treating myself (or better again, treated to) a piece for Christmas.

Proprietor Norma has the most astounding eye when she is buying and we are very lucky here in Tralee to benefit from her classy taste. The costume jewellery with semi-precious and indeed precious stones are real investment pieces and will last a lifetime.

Now is the time to pass the hints to those who will be pondering over what to buy you for Christmas, but if you are like me, choose the piece yourself and tell them where it is. Connollys offer a deposit system and let’s face it Christmas is creeping up on us.

After parking my car on Saturday I was approached by a lady who was looking for Jasmine and she had travelled from Cork. She was advised by her sister to visit Diane Jeffers and her team to find that perfect Mother of the Bride outfit.

Curiosity got the better of me and I asked her why would she travel from Cork City to Tralee and she answered enthusiastically that she wanted a good service and a good selection. Well she certainly was visiting the right store for both. I am sure she wasn’t disappointed.

Tralee is really blessed to have such an array of shops and it doesn’t surprise me that it has become a destination shopping town for many people living in the county and beyond.

Remember too that spending money locally creates employment so keep that in mind next time you go online to make a purchase.

Until next week,

Stay stylish!

Orlagh xx
