TRALEE schools produced winners in one of the country’s biggest art competitions, run by the Irish League of Credit Unions (ILCU).
The prize-winners were announced at a special ceremony in Croke Park on Sunday last with broadcasting legend Marty Whelan as MC.

Cash prizes awarded to each of the 33 national winners which included Katie Collins from Brookfield College and Eileen Kovac from Mercy Mounthawk representing Tralee Credit Union.
Students representing the Killarney and Rathmore and District Credit Unions were also among the prizes (see list below).
The All Ireland Art Competition now in its 33rd year it one of the largest Art Competition in the country. Over 30,000 entries were received throughout 300 credit unions for the All Ireland Credit Union Art Competition with 33 national winners picked at the final stage of the competition.
This year’s theme ‘Dreams are made of this….’ was open to interpretation by each entrant. The theme aimed to give all entrants a wide-ranging scope to express their creativity and imagination.
Kerry was well represented among the winners with six national winners chosen from the Kingdom. Speaking to John O’Regan PRO presenting Chapter 23, Kerry and Mid West Credit Unions “We had phenomenal success at this year’s art competition. We had six of the 33 national winners from Kerry so excellent achievement from our artists. A great day was had by our winners and their families in Croke Park with each of our six receiving cash prizes and each winning entry will have their artwork featured in the Credit Union’s 2018 National Calendar”.
