Public Donating Thousands After Kerry Teenager Receives Burns In Crash

A TEENAGER from Tarbert received serious burns to her hands when the car she was travelling in with her father burst into flames during a rally event on Sunday and now the public is coming to her aid.

Eighteen-year-old Megan Costello was the co-driver for her father Jason, who is originally from Ballybunion, in a Circuit of Munster rally event when their car overturned near Newcastlewest.

The car burst into flames and and they had to be rescued from the vehicle by another competitor who came on the scene.

Jason and Megan are currently recovering in hospital but Megan’s hands sustained severe burns.

A gofundme campaign has been set-up to help Megan who faces a long recovery from her injuries. After one day, it has already raised well over €11,000 out of the target of €20,000 to help with medical expenses. Click here to go to the fundraising page
