‘RUN The Kingdom’ (RTK) which is the event management company behind the Tralee Marathon, has conducted a poll to find out what competitors and visitors to the town thought of the hugely popular event.
Over the last four weeks 203 people took part in the survey which threw up some interesting results.
When asked ‘What Were The Best Aspects Of The Tralee International Marathon?’, the scenery around the route was overwhelmingly voted as the best feature on the race with 37 people voting for it.
This was followed with the ‘people and the craic’ coming in at a close second with 32 people saying that this was the part they most enjoyed about the day.
The rest of the results are spread out over a number of different areas such as the atmosphere in the town on the day, to the spectators that showed up to spur the weary runners home in the final stretch.
It also emerged that the majority of visitors staying in the town used hotels (59%) while 20% stayed with relatives or friends (see tweet below).
