It may be boring November, but there’s still a lot to get up to this weekend around Tralee…

Friday

1. Circus antics…

The National Circus Festival Ireland is in full swing around town. Today there’s workshops, lunchtime walkabouts, a show in Siamsa Tire and a Festival Club tonight in The Grand Hotel from 10pm. For more checkout www.circusfestival.ie

2. Rock The Meadowlands…

The fourth annual Tralee Rock, Blues & Motorcycle Festival takes place this weekend at The Meadowlands Hotel  and as usual it’s a must for music lovers.

Kicking off Friday night’s entertainment and craic will be “The Tomcats” Rockin Blues Band along with Rock DJ David Foley.

Other bands include The Inglorious Bar Stewards and Chapter 2 among others. Entry to the event on Friday is a donation to Kerry Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (KSPCA)  and music comes from Rock & Blues DJ David Foley.

Weekend ticket is €20 and all profits from the event goes to the KSPCA.

Saturday

3. Makeup masterclass

Tara O’Farrell.

Tara Makeup is coming back to CH Chemists at 2pm. Tara will be showcasing Rimmel London, Max Factor & Bourjois Paris makeup ranges and will have fantastic tips & tricks to get ladies Christmas party season ready. 4. Hurlers do battle…

The north Kerry hurling fraternity will be in Tralee for at the Kerry Under 21 hurling championship final. Crotta O’Neills and Causeway will compete for the title and it’s sure to be an entertaining afternoon. Throw in is at 2pm.

5. Circus Siamsa…

A performer at the Circus Siamsa show at Siamsa Tíre back in 2015.

One of the highlights of the Circus Festival this weekend is the family-friendly variety show, ‘Circus Siamsa’. There are two shows at 2pm and 5.30pm. This year there are acts from the UK, Germany, Catalunya, Brazil, Spain and Galway. It’s a must see in Siamsa. Call 066-7123055 for details.

6. Super Saturday…

What a day for fans of Irish sports teams. First up on the box is Ireland v South Africa in the opening match of the Guinness Series at 5.30pm. It’s then followed by Ireland playing Denmark in the first leg of the World Cup qualifying playoff.

Why not head out and grab a bite to eat in the pub while watching the rugby and enjoy a post-match drink captivated by the soccer team’s attempts to get something out of the Danish trip.

Sunday

7. The Circus leaves town…

The Circus Festival finishes on a high with a parade through town starting from Moyderwell Hall at 3pm. The participants make their way through town to The Mall area and it’s always a colourful and fun spectacle for the family.
