Colaiste Gleann Li – where your child is more than a number.

COLAISTE Gleann Lí at Clash in Tralee will host an Open Day next Saturday to showcase all the school has to offer.

The post-primary school is going from strength to strength and over the past number two years, enrolments have doubled.

The school has made local history in terms of its characteristic spirit and caring ethos; becoming the first Kerry School, and one of only 5 post-primary schools nationally, to be awarded the Anti-Bullying Flag.

In addition the school has been awarded the Amber Flag for health promotion and Green Schools Flag for recycling and ensuring an environmentally-friendly ethos.

Refurbishment works and expansion of the school are in process, marking the second phase of a two phase development; part one of the project saw the refurbishment of a cross section of specialist classrooms.

This latest plan ensures that, in tandem with the usual second level subjects offered in all schools, Coláiste Gleann Lí will be enabled to offer modern courses in ICT, Robotics and Programming and Creative Media to prepare students for highly sought after third level courses and careers in these areas.

“Last year’s enrolments were a staggering 200% increase on the previous year and our Open Days have become an overwhelming annual success,” said Mr Richard Lawlor, Principal of Coláiste Gleann Lí, recently.

Mr Lawlor went on to explain the reason for the marked increase in enrolments; “Our favourable class sizes mean that we are the only post primary school in Tralee that can offer the highest level of individual and personalised attention to students, ensuring that each student realises their full potential”.

Parents and guardians can see and hear about how progressive the school is at the Open Day next Saturday, October 15 between 10am and 1pm. For more information please call 066-7122552 or email office@gleannli.ie
