Pupils at Caherleaheen NS which is holding an Open Week from October 23-26.
CAHERLEAHEEN National School Principal, Mary Connolly, is inviting prospective parents to call in to Caherleaheen National School to see pupils, teachers and staff in action next week.
“Our Open Week runs from Mon Oct 23rd to Thursday 26th of October,” said the Principal of the school, which is located just outside Tralee town.
“It’s a lovely opportunity to take a look around our school and to get a feel for the atmosphere on a typical school day. I have had the honour and privilege of teaching here for over 30 years.
“It was a wonderful, small three-teacher school back then. Over the years it has grown into a vibrant, active and energetic school with seven class teachers, five learning support teachers and five assistants. The boys and girls here are fantastic and great fun to work with!”

“We strive to build open, warm, yet firm relationships with all our children and we regard their parents and guardians as our most valued partners in education,” added Principal Mary.
“I am also really proud of how effectively our staff collaborate and share with each other. They work incredibly hard, doing an amazing job tailoring curricular programmes and initiatives to ensure that each child achieves to the best of their ability while also nurturing their social and emotional wellbeing.”

“I truly believe that Caherleaheen is a great little gem of a school, nestled in a beautiful rural setting just 2km south of Tralee town. It’s a very special place and we are extremely proud of every child who walks through the school gate each day.
