TRALEE Tennis Club will host a tournament that will run over five days next week from Tuesday to Saturday.

“This year the championships are going to be bigger and better, it’s going to be an extremely exciting week of tennis,” said Rosemary Broderick PRO of Tralee Tennis Club.

The five day tournament, called the ‘BMW Club Championship’, was revived last year after a number of years and it will take place at the club’s courts on the Dan Spring Road.

The competition is made up of around 80 senior players all who are members of the club. They will compete, mens and ladies singles and doubles, also in mixed doubles categories.

The finals will take place on Saturday when there will be a great spread of food laid on for competitors and spectators alike. The competition is being sponsored by Aherns Garage of Castleisland.

“It’s the second year we’ve sponsored the tournament so we’re delighted with that. I have been a member of Tralee Tennis Club for years and we have a few customers who are members of the club as well, so we’re always looking to give back to the community,” said Gordon Lunn of Ahern’s Garage.
