Over the past number of months, the Chamber has worked with Galway-based digital company Booniverse under their new Xplore platform to take the App one step further.

This new simple platform aims to support locals and visitors to the region with a ‘one-stop-shop’. Xplore Tralee aims to better serve the needs of locals and tourists alike, especially in times like these when shopping and exploring locally has never been more important.

The platform continues to provide guided trails, walks and information for visitors to Tralee, but now will contain information on clubs and services and a community alerts function, with click and collect services for retailers, digital vouchers, ticket sale opportunities for local events, and a booking platform currently under development.

The highly anticipated Xplore Tralee App and Website were launched in the Rose Garden by the Mayor of Tralee, Cllr Terry O’Brien along with Tralee Chamber Alliance President Kevin McCarthy, Chamber Chief Executive Ken Tobin, and Minister for Education Norma Foley.

Speaking at the launch, Mayor Terry O’Brien welcomed that the new platforms which will support local community groups and businesses.

“It is so important now that communities work together and having this digital tool available will help Tralee to connect and engage. We have all become used to living our lives online over the past year, it will be vital now that we use every opportunity available to rediscover all the amazing things we have available in Tralee,” he said.

Kevin McCarthy said; “We believe that Tralee has so much to offer and we are committed to shining a light on the things that makes Tralee so unique, this new platform just makes it so easy to find out everything about Tralee. We know that having access to the right information at any given time is so important in this day and age. That’s why the new App and Website bundles everything together, from accommodation, attractions, shopping to self-guided tours, hikes & trails and more.”

Ken Tobin explained the next steps for the platform. “Over the past number of months, the team in Tralee Chamber have been working with a core group of businesses and Booniverse to redevelop the existing App, and to completely rebuild the tralee.ie website. The aim of this entirely new platform is to provide a location for everything including local businesses, activites and groups. It’s so much more than just a website, it’s foundation for the digital infrastructure for Tralee.”
