THIS Saturday in Tralee RFC, the biggest event on the Girls Rugby Calendar in Munster will take place with the host in of six Munster finals with the Bowl, Plate and Lastly the Cup finals.

In the two age grades the big Cup finals both kerry teams will be involved. The U15 girls from Listowel/Tralee taking on the Kilrush RFC at 3.30pm. The local U15’s will now be going into their 4th Final with no silverware from the previous three finals.

The U18 Listowel/Tralee side will be taking to the field on Saturday afternoon at 1.45pm. With the Munster League Cup wrapped up before Christmas, they are now going for the double which would be a first in Womens Youth Rugby.

They play a Bantry RFC who have been pushing our girls in every encounter they have met in previous fixtures. The U18 Kerry side have several Munster U18 player in their squad, this is fantastic for a girls section that had no teams in 2013 and have grown quickly in a that short time.

Ciara Shine, Listowel/Tralee u18 captain said; “the great team spirit and commitment from the players, coaches and support from our parents has been a overall team effort to bring us to another Munster Final, we expect a big challenge against Bantry and we will give it everything, as we don’t know if we will be in this position again, we dont take it for granted this opportunity, nothing less that 100% on Saturday is required.”

Girls mini rugby from 8yrs up is growing with sessions in Listowel Town Park and Tralee RFC every Saturday morning. There is great emphasis on fun, friends and learn new skills, social and sporting.
