Tralee’s Jobless Figure Rose In November

TRALEE’S jobless figure rose by 70 in November on the previous month with 3,893 people now signing on the Live Register.

Killarney and Dingle saw much bigger increases as the county saw the number of unemployed increase by 10% on October’s figure.

It’s the first time since July that the figure has risen in Tralee. The jobless figure has fallen by 546 in the past 12 months — from 4,439 in November 2016 to 3,893 last month.

There were 8,853 people on the register in Kerry in November according to the latest data from the Central Statistics Office.

The seven social welfare offices in Kerry all recorded monthly increases.

Killarney saw the biggest increase, up 352 to 1,428, Dingle was up by 125 to 548 and Kenmare was up 96 to 320.

Killorglin rose by 77 to 665, Caherciveen by 45 to 381, but Listowel only increased by 12 to 1,618.
