THE number of people signing on the Live Register in Tralee in January rose by 24 on the previous month according to the latest figures from the the Central Statistics Office.
There were 3,690 people signing on at the Tralee office, that number is still down 592 on January 2017, a drop of around 13% in a year.
There were 9,580 people in Kerry signing on in the seven social welfare offices in January, a fall of nearly 14% on January 2017, but unemployment rose by 314 people or 3% from December.
Listowel (down by 11 to 1,663) and Killorglin (down by 6 to 696) offices were the only places which showed a decreases, with Killarney jumping the highest number by 150 to 1,743.

Others that increased were Kenmare by 120 to 474, Dingle up by 23 to 632 and Caherciveen by 16 to 412.
