Filmaker, Bertie Brosnan
A TRALEE film producer is currently preparing to head to the famous Cannes Film Festival for the second year running.
Bertie Brosnan, a local film-maker here in town, will take his ‘Sineater’ film to the festival which is one of the most widely recognised and prestigious film festivals in the world which takes place from May 13-24.
He reached the Short Film Corner of the festival previously with his film ‘Jacob Wrestling With Angel’ back in 2014.
Sineater, which was filmed here in town stars Joe Mullins and is about about a successful young businessman who returns home home to meet his mother. Along the way he comes across a strange driver played by Joe Mullins.
This is obviously great news for Bertie and his producer Brian O’ Connor who will be hoping that exposing to film on such an international level will have a hugely positive impact on their future distribution.
They are heading to the festival this year with a specific plan of action as they hope to achieve worldwide distribution for the film.
Having successfully held a fundraising campaign, they have over 50 more festivals on the distribution list also.
