A LOHERCANNON man enjoyed a nice windfall recently when he won the St Pats GAA Club Lotto draw.
James O’Connor collected his cheque for €7,300 at the club on Tuesday evening, but it’s not the first time this has happened to the O’Connor family.
His daughters Paula and Martina have already won the club lotto in the past, so supporting the club has really paid off for them.

James was in Keane’s Bar in Curraheen last Sunday with his wife, Bridie, for a drink and they were having a chat with friends.
“The draw took place and we paid no notice to it. Then Christy [Murphy, Club President] said, ‘the lotto has been won tonight and the man who won it is at the bar’. He come over then and put his hand on my shoulder. I thought they were having me on,” said James.
They weren’t and James can now enjoy the cash. I’d say his wife Bridie will have to play the lotto now, with the luck of the O’Connors.
