SENIOR FOOTBALL

Listowel Emmets had a well-deserved victory over Ardfert in Round 4 of Div. 3A of the County League played in Ardfert on Sunday afternoon.

The teams were evenly matched in the first 20 minutes. Christopher Nolan pointed two early frees replied to by David Keane for Listowel. Emmets scored their first goal in the 24th minute and they went on to lead by 1-05 to 3pts at half time.

The second Listowel goal came early in the second half when an Ardfert kickout was intercepted. This was followed by point in the 8th, 13th, 15th& 17th minutes of the half. David Griffin never stopped trying for Ardfert and he was rewarded with a cracking goal in the 20th minute. Both teams introduced a number of substitutes and Listowel coasted to an easy win on a final score of Listowel Emmets 2-12, Ardfert 1-05.

No luck for our U13s this weekend but two brave displays in blistering conditions. Our As came out on the losing side against an impressive Finuge team. Final Score Ardfert 2-9 Finuge 4-14

Our Bs can count themselves a bit unlucky not to come away with something from their match in Listowel. A great 2nd half display was not enough to overhaul the Listowel team. Final Score Listowel b 3-6 Ardfert b 2-3.

U15

Our U15 footballers had a well-deserved victory in Gallarus on Wednesday last to qualify for the Div 2 final of the Lee Strand Milk County Football League. This win was backboned by a solid defensive display. Well done to every player on the panel.  They face Kilcummin in the final on Wednesday 21st, venue and time to be confirmed. We wish Pat, Jonathan, Liam and all the players the very best of luck in the final.

U17

The U17s play Austin Stacks in their final group game in the Central Region League on Monday 19th. Semi final is scheduled for Monday 26th.
