Kerry Airport To Receive €1.2m Capital Funding Boost

THERE’S good news for Kerry Airport today as it’s being announced that it is to receive €1.222m in capital funding.

Minister of State at the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport Brendan Griffin announced the funding on his facebook page this morning.

“Minister Ross and I are announcing significant government funding of over €1.222 million for a number of improvements at the Airport, including a new roof for the fire station, improved runway lighting, a new security scanner, a new explosives detector, new surface overlay and other works,” he said.

“This latest Government support comes on top of numerous supportive actions by our Government in recent years, assisting the overall viability of Kerry Airport, which provides critical access in and out of Kerry and is a crucial component in our overall economic situation. will be used to improve facilities at the airport, including the roof of a fire station, runway lighting, security scanner and explosives detector.”
